JOB SUMMARY

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operation of the Cafe in accordance with established policies and procedures while maintaining standards of excellence in quality and service. As a lead member of the service team, the manager greets guests, assists with seating and food expediting and manages front-of-house staff to ensure the highest possible standards of service and efficiency.

All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote positive guest relations by always projecting a courteous, helpful attitude and assisting guests and employees throughout the restaurant
• Maintain full working knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage menus
• Manage seating and service assignments
• Manage scheduling, hiring, training, coaching, reviewing performance, documenting and rewarding staff
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Ensure compliance with verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
• Act immediately on all guest concerns to ensure that corrections are made when possible
• Compile necessary operational reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least four years of experience in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Front-of-house restaurant leadership experience required
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products required
• Knowledge of proper service techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Ability to multitask in a high volume environment while maintaining service standards and a calm demeanor
• Ability to build rapport with guests and employees
• Adaptive organizational skills and the ability to change plans to meet new circumstances
• Must present a neat and professional appearance
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
