Job Overview
ER at North McCarran, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, will be open 24/7 and welcomes patients from pediatrics to seniors. The facility features multiple treatment rooms, including fast‑track exam rooms designed to efficiently triage low‑severity patients. Advanced imaging services (ultrasound, CT, X‑ray) and outpatient lab draws are offered. Like a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including trauma, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening but emergent conditions.

Position DetailsThis ER Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient and varied flexible schedule. The RN will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, coordinate care planning with other disciplines, and deliver psychosocial, physical, and general care. The RN determines priorities based on patient needs and factors influencing patient flow, communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic results, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patients.
- Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients; accurately assigns triage categories.
- Ability to monitor hemodynamic status and correctly interpret results.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and educates patient and family regarding pain management.

- Current NV RN license
- Two to three years experience in the emergency department (preferred)
- Two to three years experience in critical care (preferred)
- Extensive EMS background experience (preferred)
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Current PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
