ER at North Valleys
, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, will be open 24/7 and welcomes patients from pediatrics to seniors. The facility features multiple treatment rooms, including fast‑track exam rooms designed to efficiently triage low‑severity patients. Advanced imaging services including ultrasound, CT, and X‑ray and outpatient lab draws are also offered. Like a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including trauma conditions, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening but emergent conditions.

This ER Registered Nurse opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, coordinate care planning with other disciplines, and provide care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. The candidate will determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system, and will communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology and diagnostic results.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Performs a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and conducts reassessments as per policy for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.
  • Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients, accurately assigns triage categories.
  • Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interprets results.
  • Assesses pain, implements appropriate pain management techniques, and educates patients and families regarding pain management.

Qualifications
  • Current NV RN license
  • Two to three years of experience in the emergency department (preferred) or two to three years of critical care experience
  • Extensive EMS background experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
