Position Overview

This Emergency Department Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient flexible day shift schedule. The position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial, providing direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, participating in hiring of staff and communicating with physicians, Nurse Manager, Director and co‑workers about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and conduct reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general patient populations.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques and educate patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and accurately assigns triage categories.

Qualifications
  • 2 years ED experience required
  • Current RN license within the state of practice
  • Current BCLS Certification
  • ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire
  • PALS within six (6) months of hire
  • ENPC and TNCC optional
