Registered NURSE, Emergency Dept, Per Diem

Responsibilities

Sierra Medical Center is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and more.
Emergency Dept Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem, flexible day shift schedule. The RN performs dual clinical and managerial functions: direct and indirect patient care, hiring of staff, communication with physicians and management, and rapid response to changes in patient condition.

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performs head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments per policy (pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, general population).
• Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educates patient and family about pain.

• 2 years ED experience required
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.
