This Nurse Apprentice opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient flexible schedule. This dynamic individual will provide support to nursing care and coordinates the delivery of patient treatments to assigned patients in a medical/surgical facility, ensuring adherence to hospital or department and University policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Assess patient health, develop a plan of care for patients, administer treatments, educate patients and their families and provide patient and family support as a liaison with the doctors and other members of the staff.

• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
• In coordination with RN preceptor, is able to formulate a patient care plan.
• Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness under the supervision of the RN preceptor.
• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration, under the direct supervision of the RN preceptor, based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing.
• Has completed the first year of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital.
