Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license (must be obtained prior to start date)

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Successful completion of telemetry competency exam (rhythm strip identification and measurement)

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience

• Ability to float to other hospital units within competency level

• Willingness to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a 29-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient condition

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including CNAs, CCTs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG techs, respiratory therapists, and physical/occupational therapists

• Care for patients with diverse medical and stable telemetry diagnoses (COPD, sepsis, COVID-19, ETOH withdrawal, diabetes, GI bleed, and more)

• Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic health record

• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

• Educate and support patients and their families/caregivers regarding care plans and discharge instructions

• May be required to pick up one additional shift per 4-week schedule period
