Senior Director - Operations
As a Senior Director – Operations you will be responsible for the performance of all operational functions of a large, complex location. You will provide strategic leadership to meet and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality.
Responsibilities- Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
- Lead team to ensure objectives are met, including driving customer service excellence plans, setting and managing performance targets, and employee performance management.
- Partner with Lean Leadership, ensuring LEAN methodologies are utilized and action plans are developed to correct problem areas and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality.
- Identify, adopt, and implement best practices that enhance operational performance and efficiency.
- Ensure consistent compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, internal audit controls, Sarbanes‑Oxley controls, and business management quality system requirements.
- Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary.
- Identify market potential through competitor analysis and strategic planning.
- Develop annual business plans, identify key activities, and priorities.
- Implement and communicate operational strategies and solutions consistent with business plans.
- Provide guidance to operations management in hiring and developing talent.
- operational excellence goals and audit requirements are met.
- Partner with inventory leaders to ensure region inventory needs and goals are met.
- Provide guidance to ensure business continuity and recovery plans are met.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- LEAN Yellow Belt certification – Green or Black Belt preferred.
- 10+ years of operations leadership experience.
- Experience running large distribution warehouse centers, complex locations or multiple locations.
- Business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Strategic thinking skills and ability to work with senior management and regional teams.
- Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
- In‑depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.).
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and lead change in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Ability to travel 10% – 25% of the time.
