Bowling and Events Department Supervisor
Round One Entertainment Inc. invites you to apply for the Bowling and Events Department Supervisor role.
Location:
Meadowood Mall, Reno, NV (full-time, non-exempt).
Pay: $17.00/hr - $18.75/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
OverviewThe Bowling Supervisor is responsible for the sales, profits, staffing, image and operation of the bowling/karaoke department. Responsibilities include setting revenue goals, managing expenses, profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee morale.
Essential Duties- Responsible for the sales and profit projections of the bowling/karaoke department.
- Meet or exceed sales goals through efficient execution of company policies and procedures.
- Be consistently on the floor to provide personal sales support and troubleshoot store issues.
- Directly supervise department supervisors to ensure compliance with established store policies, procedures, and sales goals.
- Provide operational and customer service training for BO/KA employees at all levels.
- Hold weekly staff meetings with department supervisors to discuss and resolve issues related to operations, staffing and customer service.
- Write and/or update operations manuals for departments to include day‑to‑day procedures.
- Prepare and present performance evaluations and counseling notices to direct reports.
- Understand the department’s employees’ job responsibilities.
- Proactively support promotional activities within the store and contribute to an effective working environment.
- Assist the Marketing Department with ideas to increase store traffic upon request.
- Conduct alcohol and age‑restriction control in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain confidential discussions of employee increases, promotions or transfers.
- Report all irregular issues and problems to store management for a solution.
- Assist in ensuring that the facility is always clean and organized.
- Perform all shift duties as required by the General Manager.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities directed by the General Manager.
- Select, coach, and develop effective staff for Bowling, Karaoke, and Events Departments.
- Develop a diverse, high‑performance team by coaching, counseling and mentoring.
- Review department timesheets for accuracy of hours and overtime.
- Assist with new‑hire orientation for store employees.
- Monitor departments’ staffing daily to ensure adequate coverage.
- Prepare performance evaluations and counseling notices for direct reports.
- Audit refunds and/or credits against itemized sales from the previous day.
- Audit cash drawers and transactions.
- Audit and track special events.
- Create daily audit reports with sales information and findings for store management.
- Research problems discovered during audits.
- Follow company guidelines for managing confidential information, customer satisfaction, and supervising store personnel.
- Ensure satisfactory maintenance, appearance, and condition of assigned facilities to meet security, safety, and environmental codes and ordinances.
- Enforce compliance with all local, state, federal regulations and company policy pertaining to safety and loss prevention.
- Comply with all OSHA requirements.
- Contribute to improvement or more efficient ways and means in store processes.
- Assist in the research and development of resources that create timely and efficient store workflow.
- Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Executive Management.
- Assist in the maintenance and/or update of store IIPP and OSHA records.
- Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.
- Maintain good communication with general management, customer service associates, and outside contacts.
- Comply and maintain confidentiality of all company policies and procedures.
- Some college preferred but not required; minimum 3‑5 years of work experience in a bowling, entertainment or hospitality industry.
- Customer service experience in a comparable environment, with strong verbal communication skills and a positive, “can‑do” attitude.
