Summary
The Certified Pool Operator Supervisor is responsible for maintaining swimming pools, hot tubs and other bodies of water throughout the property. This includes being responsible for checking chemicals in swimming pools and hot tubs and having a thorough knowledge of pools and pool related equipment. An understanding of current codes and practices established by health codes and current national aquatic certification agencies.
Testing and adjusting water chemistry to meet standards for oxidation, sanitation meeting health department code and the ability to inspect and ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the general pool areas.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain the chemical factor of pool and hot tub water.
- Maintain clean surroundings of the pool area, including removing debris and trash in the pool area.
- Provide friendly guest service to hotel guests using the pool and spa areas.
- Maintain the mechanical aspects of the pools, including filtration, pumps, piping, water temperature, vacuums, heat exchangers, dosing controllers and other related equipment.
- Perform routine, annual maintenance, and preventative maintenance on the filtration systems and other related systems.
- Maintain essential chemicals inventory, and ensure they are stored properly and safely.
- Provide a safe environment for guests and team members. Report emergencies to the proper authorities. Respond and treat water for Bio incidents using approved sanitation process with documentation.
- Effectively communicate between multiple departments and shifts, including Entertainment, Pool Management, and Security to mitigate bio-hazard events.
- Report all suspicious people or activities and hazardous conditions to supervisor, security, and/or safety personnel.
- Maintenance and repair of all building systems and equipment as needed.
- Respond to accident scenes and/or emergency calls, including fire alarms, smoke issues, or biohazard calls for any body of water.
- Maintain daily records of work requests, water quality readings, and preventative maintenance work requests.
- Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
- Ability to communicate with other shifts to ensure follow‑up with on‑going projects or issues to minimize downtime, maximize efficiency and guest experience.
- Ability of simple math and complex reading, writing, and task completion skills is required.
Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, supervising, instructing, driving, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintaining pools and related equipment or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be able to maintain valid driver’s license and meet GSR driving requirements.
- Must be able to maintain valid pool operator certification.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently standing, walking, occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing during the duration of their shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 25lbs or less and 100lbs or less occasionally.
- Dependent on the shift the team member will be occasionally driving.
- The team member will frequently have repetitive use of both feet, both hands and firm/strong grasping motions. Light grasping motions and finger dexterity of both hands will be constantly required.
- Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
