Job Purpose:

The Mitigation Technician is responsible for performing water mitigation, content manipulation, fire and smoke cleaning of structure and contents, remediation of mold and microbial contamination within residential and commercial structures.
You should be comfortable performing tasks independently, including paperwork completion and leading a crew.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Construction of containment systems and critical barriers

• Monitoring of environmental controls and negative pressure

• Operation of air scrubbers and negative air machines

• Monitoring moisture and humidity

• Precision demolition

• Removal of contaminated building materials

• Post-remediation detailed cleaning and fire odor restoration

• Perform dry-checks

• Water damage emergency response and monitoring

• Mold remediation

• Biohazard cleanup

• Set up and monitor drying equipment

• Apply antimicrobial products

• Proper use of PPE equipment including respirator, gloves, and goggles.

• Leads a team of 1-2 personnel

• Can work independently to complete jobs

• Cross training in Cleaning, Contents, and CRU

• Other duties as assigned

• Work safely daily, and report unsafe work conditions or unsafe behaviors.

Qualifications:

• Must pass a respirator test and keep facial hair cut to meet the respirator fit standard.

• Experience in mitigation and construction restoration minimum 1 year

• Certification with the IICRC a plus

• Completion of 6 basic Reet's Academy training or W.R.T certification

• Proficient use of all mitigation equipment and tools

• Ability to create moisture map in the field

• Basic understanding of Xactimate and MICA is a plus

• Ability to use Matterport for scans

• Basic understanding and utilization of iCat is a plus

• Mitigation chemical application knowledge

• Maintains a good driving record

• Equipment knowledge/troubleshooting

• Available for overtime

• Must participate in the on-call rotation for emergency response services, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

• Jobsites may vary from very clean environments to very dirty environments or other unsanitary conditions. Protective gear is available for use and is required on some heavily contaminated work sites.

• The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

• Please note that this position could never be performed remotely.

Physical Demands:

• Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force routinely, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Ascends/descends ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

• Maintain balance in all situations.

• Must be comfortable in confined spaces for long periods of time

• Push, pull and frequently carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment.

• Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

• Stand and walk for long periods of time.

• Coordinate movement with eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.

• See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.

• This position will never be remote.

Precision in following restoration protocols, and ensuring work meets safety and quality standards.

Efficiently prioritizes tasks and manages time to stay on schedule, even in fast-paced environments. Must be able to meet deadline requirements. Must be able to arrive on time to jobs/office.

Capacity to handle unexpected changes, such as additional damage discovered, and work under pressure in emergency or time-sensitive situations.

Skills:

Clear communication with team members, project managers, and sometimes clients, to relay progress, issues, or safety concerns.

Ability to handle potentially challenging environments, including distressed clients and high-stakes projects, while maintaining professionalism.
