Responsibilities- Build and mature the cybersecurity program from the ground up, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and manage endpoint protection (EDR) and SIEM solutions across the organization.
- Develop and execute phishing simulations and security awareness training programs for employees.
- Configure and maintain email security and data loss prevention (DLP) tools.
- Lead incident response efforts, including detection, triage, and remediation of security events.
- Secure the company’s web application and ensure robust security for all SaaS platforms in use.
- Coordinate vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts across all IT assets.
- Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures, including identity and access management (IAM) best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security into development and operational workflows.
- Prepare for compliance audits and risk assessments, with a focus on NERC CIP standards.
- Mentor and eventually manage a small team of cybersecurity professionals.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles.
- Proven experience with endpoint protection/EDR tools (e.g., Crowd Strike, Sentinel One, Carbon Black).
- Hands‑on experience with phishing simulation platforms and security awareness training.
- Strong knowledge of email security, DLP, incident response frameworks, and IAM principles.
- Familiarity with securing web applications and SaaS environments.
- Understanding of NERC CIP compliance requirements and their application in the electric power industry.
- Ability to work independently in a startup environment and build processes from scratch.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; prior experience mentoring or leading a team is a plus.
Compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
