• Responsible for initial guest interaction at the door and welcoming all visitors to the restaurant, setting the tone for their experience
• Monitor the door/podium at all times to ensure prompt seating of guests
• Answer phones and take reservations
• Show pleasant, conscientious, and professional hospitality instincts and a drive to provide customer service
• Operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service
• Take payments from guests and ensure proper cash handling techniques
• Communicate with guests and restaurant management staff
• Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

• Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture, and will be required to wear hostess fine‑dining uniform
• Applicants must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine‑dining environment
• Ability to operate a cash register POS system
• Pleasant phone demeanor
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Alcohol Awareness Card required
• At least 2 years of experience bartending in an upscale restaurant or fine‑dining is preferred
• Must be familiar with standard drinks and able to maintain supplies necessary to prepare common cocktails and beverages
• Must have strong cash handling skills and ability to collect payments accurately
• Must have strong knowledge of liquor and wine and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Good communication and guest service skills a must
