Responsibilities- Interview patients or representatives to obtain identifying and verifying information (name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information, and authorization).
- Interface with the PBX operator and reception areas.
- Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
- Communicate with the population served, utilizing age‑specific techniques from neonatal to geriatric.
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
- Complete special projects or other assignments within specified time frames.
- Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative (preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Customer service experience (required).
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent (preferred).
Part Time (60 hours or more). Evenings.
