Position PurposeUnder the general direction of a physician and department supervisor, the Sonographer specializes in Cardiac, Vascular, or General ultrasound procedures. Responsibilities include performing complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations, and supporting patient care and departmental goals.
Nature and ScopeThe role involves operating sophisticated ultrasonic imaging units, staying current with technological advances, and performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, including invasive techniques as applicable. The sonographer also provides training, participates in accreditation processes, and maintains equipment and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking. - Experience:
At least one year of clinical experience in the relevant department. - Licenses:
Active registry with Cardiovascular Credentialing International or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the relevant specialty; ARDMS Registry in Abdomen and OB/GYN preferred. - Certifications:
CPR certification upon hire; AHA BLS within 60 days of hire. - Computer
Skills:
Ability to complete online learning and access digital resources within 90 days.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, performing various ultrasound exams, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
