Job Title: Mechanical Engineer VI (Test)
Location: Reno, NV
Client: Voyager Technologies
Clearance: U.S. Citizen required - must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
Salary Range: DOE (senior-level)
Travel: ~10%

Role Overview
Voyager Technologies is a pioneering defense and space organization developing mission-critical solutions to fortify national security and advance human exploration. This Mechanical Engineer VI will serve as a technical authority within the testing discipline - designing and overseeing complex test programs across propulsion and aerospace hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale and high-risk test programs from planning to execution.
- Develop and implement test frameworks, procedures, and data acquisition systems.
- Apply advanced statistical analysis and signal processing methods to validate results.
- Oversee testing for propulsion systems, pressure vessels, thrusters, and electromechanical actuators.
- Draft and review detailed test plans, technical documentation, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with systems, design, and avionics engineering teams to ensure validation and verification requirements are met.
- Contribute to risk management strategies, reliability analysis, and safety reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and advise on test methodology best practice.
- 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, or propulsion.
- Proven expertise in test program design and execution for aerospace hardware.
- Deep knowledge of data acquisition, statistical analysis, and measurement systems.
- Proficiency with CAD and GD&T for complex assemblies.
- Familiar with CFD and FEA simulation tools.
- Understanding of solid rocket motor design and combustion principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing technical reports and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (required). Master's preferred.
- U.S. citizenship mandatory - ability to obtain security clearance.
- Direct rocket motor design and test experience.
- Experience in propellant manufacturing and combustion testing.
- Leadership experience within multi-disciplinary test teams
