Junior Mechanical Engineer (Student-Friendly)
Location: Reno, Nevada
Pay Range: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire | Part-Time Available for Current Students
Seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to support product design, drafting, and engineering projects within our manufacturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for a Mechanical Engineering student or recent graduate with hands‑on AutoCAD experience who is seeking real‑world application in a production‑driven setting.
Part‑time scheduling is available for students currently completing their Mechanical Engineering degree. The role transitions to full‑time upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities- Create, modify, and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD
- Assist in mechanical design, product development, and prototype testing
- Support senior engineers with research, data analysis, and technical documentation
- Prepare and update bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and project files
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues
- Participate in project tracking and scheduling support
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Solid Works experience (required)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical schematics
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment
- Must be available for transition to full‑time upon degree completion
Full-Time: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Part-Time (Students): Flexible/Negotiable schedule
- Mechanical Engineering students with hands‑on CAD coursework
- Candidates who have completed design labs, capstone projects, or internships involving AutoCAD
