We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Electrification Automation (EA) Business Unit headquartered in Wendell, NC. This position will be based in Reno, NV.

• Install, test, commission, and start-up of LV and MV equipment.
• Develop switching procedures, Methods of Procedure (MOP’s), and advise on electrical safety matters related to scheduled work and unscheduled work.
• Develop test plans for complex relay systems and successfully test and troubleshoot those systems.
• Travel up to 80% – national depending on site locations. Flexibility on location possible depending on travel amount.
• Support Greenfield & Brownfield unit installations and commissioning activities throughout Siemens/ USA.
• Hands‑on field, travel type position.
• May be hired at a lower level than posted if the candidate's experience warrants.

• High School or GED minimum.
• 10+ years of experience with power distribution systems and low and medium voltage Switchgear, including protection and automation commissioning and troubleshooting experience with different relay systems such as SEL, Siemens SIPROTEC, and GE Multilin.
• 10+ years of experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical control circuits, including breakers or high voltage equipment testing, including analyzing test results and equipment condition assessment.
• Must be available to respond for emergency and relief assignments.
• Must be familiar with OSHA (Operation & Support Hazard Analysis) safety practices and perform duties within specified guidelines to ensure safety of self and supporting crew.
• Must be based remotely within the Reno, Nevada area to support the geography of EA’s business partners.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%.
• Valid Driver’s license in good standing, at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years field service experience commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with protection and control relays.
• Experience with project management software.
• Experience with High Voltage Circuit breakers.
• Knowledge and/or experience with SF6 Gas circuit breakers.
• MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E.
• TWIC card.
• NETA/NICET.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 – $156,794 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
