About the Role

A well-established energy company (One of the largest providers of Renewable Energy in the world) is seeking a NERC Compliance Engineer to support Bulk Power System reliability and ensure adherence to NERC standards. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong understanding of compliance, protection systems, and power system operations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as SME for NERC FAC, MOD, and PRC standards.
  • Evaluate facilities for compliance and complete required engineering testing, calculations, and documentation.
  • Prepare self-certifications, reports, and mitigation plans.
  • Respond to requests from regulatory bodies, planners, and auditors.
  • Maintain and update internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Support and prepare for compliance audits.
  • Monitor new and upcoming FERC and NERC standards.
  • Provide engineering support for capital projects, equipment failures, outages, maintenance, and testing.
  • Review and track test results and support root cause analysis.
  • Travel up to 20 percent to domestic and international sites.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and maintain a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or 8 years of relevant experience.
  • 7 plus years of experience in generation, transmission, or protection engineering.
  • Knowledge of NERC GO, GOP, and TO standards.
  • Experience with ETAP or similar modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with PSLF, PSS / E, or PSCAD preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in plant environments with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and vibration.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and safely operate 4WD vehicles.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work at a computer regularly.
