The Data Center Operations Facilities Chief Engineer serves as the subject matter expert for the maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of the physical and environmental critical infrastructure across our data center campuses. This includes electrical, mechanical, environmental, communications, and facility systems. You will provide technical leadership, drive problem resolution, lead root cause analysis, and act as the primary liaison between operations, clients, and vendors.
While this role has no direct reports, it requires strong leadership, cross-team influence, and deep technical expertise.
What You’ll Do:- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical problem resolution.
- Oversee maintenance procedures for electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
- Support commissioning, design reviews, and vendor collaboration.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs (ARC Flash, power systems, mechanical systems).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and operational standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of technical experience in facilities, electrical, or mechanical systems.
- Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure (UPS, generators, switch gear, HVAC, fire suppression).
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
