We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Electrification Automation (EA) Business Unit headquartered in Wendell, NC. This position will be based in Reno, NV. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products including photovoltaic inverters, medium‑voltage power distribution equipment, and automation solutions.

• Installation, testing, commissioning, and start‑up of low and medium voltage (480 V–38 kV) equipment.
• Troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting for LV and MV equipment.
• Flexibility on location, with travel up to 80% nationally, depending on site locations.
• Support Greenfield & Brownfield unit installations and commissioning activities throughout Siemens/USA.
• May be called on to support specific projects and emergency assignments.
• Position may be hired at a lower level than posted if experience warrants.

• High School or GED minimum.
• 4+ years of directly related equipment experience.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems.
• Experience with low and medium voltage switch gear.
• Knowledge of breaker or high‑voltage equipment testing, including analysis of test results and equipment condition assessment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits.
• Availability to respond for emergency and relief assignments.
• Familiarity with OSHA OSA (Operation & Support Hazard Analysis) safety practices and ability to perform duties within specified guidelines.
• Position must be based remotely within the Reno, Nevada area.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing; at least 21 years of age for vehicle plan participation.
• Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for employer‑sponsored work authorization.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 3–5 years of field service experience.
• Experience with protection and control relays.
• Experience with project management software.
• Experience with high‑voltage circuit breakers.
• Knowledge of SF6 gas circuit breakers.
• MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certifications.
• TWIC card.
• NETA/NICET certification.
