grant manager summary descriptionunder the direction of the chief financial officer, plans, develops, coordinates, implements, monitors, evaluates, supervises, and is responsible for functions related to formula and competitive state and federal programs, which included but are not limited to: title i 1003 (a), title i d, title iia, title iii, title vii, idea, mckinney‑vento, carl a. Perkins, teacher incentive fund, 21st century learning centers, and other competitive federal grants such as but not limited to project prevent, nv ready prek!,

State education grants may include career and college ready, career and technical education, great teaching and leading, new teacher incentive fund, read by grade three, sb 178, teacher reimbursement, turnaround, victory, zoom, other state grants may include those from the departments of agriculture, criminal justice, health and family services, energy, fish and wildlife. This position is responsible for taking a lead role in the identification and acquisition of new revenue sources for the district.
Also, plans, develops, and coordinates with the district’s non‑profit 501(c) 3 washoe k12 education foundation and other national and local foundations to increase revenue streams for the district’s priorities as identified in the strategic plan. Performs work related to wcsd state and federal district‑level implementation, as required.
assigns tasks as necessary for the completion of grant proposals; coordinates the creation of a unified, cohesive grant proposal, incorporating budgets, narratives and assessments as provided by the grant team; monitors deadlines and task completion; ensures that all grant proposals are complete and accurate in accordance with the specific grant guidelines and legislation; monitors the timely submittal of assessment and fiscal reporting requirements working alongside the grant fiscal administrator;
assists in grant audits; conducts performance evaluations of the grant writing team and office staff; reviews and communicates up‑to‑date grant guidelines and educational statutes to leadership teams as well as current grant funding opportunities that may be available in alignment with all district priorities and initiatives.
works with district departments to identify schools and/or special populations eligible to receive services funded by grants; analyzes proposed requirements and participates in planning sessions to explain funding opportunities, and identify target populations and approaches to be described in proposals and writes proposals and assists in budget preparation.
works to assure that all funding requests are coordinated through all departments and schools with local foundations and non‑profits.
collaborates with various district departments including but not limited to office of school leadership, office of academics, office of student services, office of chief of staff, office of accountability, evaluation and research, office of human resources, school police, information technology, capital projects, northwest regional professional development, and business/finance.
works cooperatively with district personnel in the development of grant applications through all of the monitoring stages; works cooperatively with parent organizations; works cooperatively with the representatives of the nevada department of education, u.s. Department of education, state and federal congressional offices; is aware of and understands appropriate laws of the us department of education, namely every students succeeds act, state of nevada, especially those pertaining to grant funds, and the policies/regulations of the district, the nevada department of education and u s department of education;
works to be sure appropriate reporting including but not limited to annual performance reports are complete and submitted on time, and makes presentations to the board of trustees and leadership team.
