We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our academic team as the Assistant Dean of Practical Nursing. This key leadership position is responsible for supporting the Dean in overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the practical nursing program. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a strong commitment to nursing education, and a collaborative approach to leadership.

  • Oversees and evaluates all aspects of the nursing program and budgets.
  • Serves as faculty and staff liaison for clinical sites.
  • Leads curriculum development and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Manages site visits and prepares required reports and documentation.
  • Maintains accurate faculty, staff, and student records.
  • Coordinates with HR on faculty and staff qualifications.
  • Identifies and pursues external resources for program support.
  • Develops and implements program policies and procedures.
  • Organizes and participates in program committees.
  • Oversees admissions and student orientation.
  • Develops articulation agreements with partner colleges.
  • Acts as liaison between the college and community partners.
  • Maintains educational partnerships and clinical site contracts.
  • Conducts or delegates clinical site evaluations for compliance and safety.
  • Coordinates with clinical faculty on rotations, schedules, and objectives.
  • Submits required BRN clinical approval forms.
  • Collects and summarizes evaluation data from students and faculty.
  • Maintains minutes of inter-agency and advisory meetings.
  • Participates in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
  • Ensures regular faculty meetings and proper documentation.
  • Assists in resolving faculty and student conflicts.
  • Promotes and markets the nursing program within the community.
  • Monitors instructional quality and participates in program review.
  • Engages in professional organizations and activities.
  • Collaborates with other college departments to support nursing students.
  • Provides degree planning and academic advising.
  • Ensures students are oriented to labs and clinical facilities.
  • Manages student appeals and grievances.
  • Supports student recruitment and admission planning.
  • Confirms student readiness for graduation and licensure.
  • Conducts Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Tracks student performance, NCLEX results, and job placement.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all college policies and standards.
  • Master’s Degree required or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes coursework in Nursing, Education Administration.
  • 2 years of experience in an administrative position.
  • 2 years of teaching experience in pre-or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • 2 years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board.
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located.
  • Experience in supervision, planning, budget preparation and maintenance required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communications.

  • Ability to utilize computer-based resources.

  • Standing/Walking:
    Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Sitting:
    Must be able to remain in a seated position for extended periods
  • Lifting/Carrying:
    Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Pushing/Pulling:
    Must be able to push or pull objects
  • Must be able to reach overhead or at or below shoulder level
