Nevada Sports Net is seeking a Sports Producer to join our team. This hybrid position is designed for someone who will actively engage in hands‑on experience in sports production, reporting and content creation across television and digital platforms.
The Sports Producer/MMJ will support daily sports coverage by producing our daily television show (NSN Tonight) and other special projects such as pregame shows, year in review shows and other specialty programs. This person will assist with the daily news coverage we provide to our sister stations as well. They also will have the opportunity for occasional reporting in the field and on‑air experience.
Key Responsibilities- Produce daily NSN Tonight show, including writing scripts, building rundowns and coordinating video and graphics
- Produce pregame shows, year in review shows and other specialty programs
- Edit highlights, packages and features using non‑linear editing systems
- Support live and recorded sports broadcasts as assigned
- Shoot, write and edit sports stories independently or with guidance from senior staff
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches and community sports figures
- Write web stories and social posts to accompany video coverage
- Assist in promoting sports coverage across platforms
- Work closely with sports anchors, reporters and producers to execute coverage plans
- Help plan coverage around games, tournaments and major sports events
- Assist with live shots and field production on game days
- Contribute sports content for digital platforms, including web and social media
- Perform other duties as assigned by Station leadership
- Strong interest in sports journalism and storytelling
- Basic shooting, writing and video editing skills
- Ability to learn newsroom systems and production workflows
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take feedback and direction
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of local, national and international sports
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Internship or campus media experience preferred for entry‑level candidates
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field or equivalent experience
- Additional certifications (., Adobe Premiere Pro) are a plus
- Ability to lift and carry broadcast equipment
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
