Buyer I
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an entry‑level Buyer I to join their client’s dynamic team in Reno, NV. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for procurement and supply chain management. The Buyer I will be responsible for providing turnkey procurement solutions for project and internal support groups, managing a full spectrum of purchasing activities.
Responsibilities- Issue subcontracts, equipment purchase orders (POs), and material POs in company systems such as JDE, IFS, and GP.
- Review and process invoices in queue, ensuring validation of pricing against POs and backup documentation, and input costs into the proper systems.
- Create and process POs and change orders within required systems.
- Negotiate day‑to‑day purchases of equipment, materials, and services to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
- Conduct proactive vendor follow‑ups to meet required delivery dates.
- Maintain professional, ethical relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide timely support to all personnel while maintaining strong internal relationships.
- Maintain and update authorized vendor lists for field and sales teams.
- Stay informed on vendor offerings, price trends, and hard‑to‑find parts across suppliers.
- Manage warranty items, including completing warranty tags.
- Oversee core credits (compressors) with vendors.
- Coordinate service calls for copiers and facsimile devices.
- Collaborate closely with Shipping & Receiving; at times, assume responsibility for those functions.
- Check tools in and out of the tool crib.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Business, Economics, or Management preferred.
- Ability to become proficient in Invoice Processing & Finvari Support or related systems within the first 4 weeks.
- Working knowledge of HVAC parts and equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with local manufacturer's reps and dealers; knowledge of local contractors (electrical, general, crane) is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a related position or industry (procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or HVAC environment).
- Demonstrated accuracy and detail orientation in data entry and documentation.
- Team player with a willingness to learn and take on varied functions.
- Proficient‑plus user of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills (phone and in person).
- Effective, professional collaboration in a team environment.
- Strong business writing (proper grammar, terminology) and customer service skills.
- Ability to organize large volumes of information while maintaining attention to detail.
- Goal‑oriented with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Monday‑Friday, typically 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; occasional overtime may be required.
The role offers competitive compensation and benefits, with a salary range of $52,000 to $65,000 annually, based on experience.
