Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting team is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client in Reno, Nevada for a clean up/reconciliations project. This 3-6 month contract position is ideal for professionals who thrive in investigative roles, where detailed research and reconciliation are key to success. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in resolving complex accounts receivable issues and contribute to the efficiency of our wholesale distribution operations.

Responsibilities:

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable records, including researching customer claims related to credits or outdated invoices.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accurate balances for customer accounts.

- Handle cash applications and monitor cash activity to ensure timely processing and reporting.

- Manage commercial collections, including communication with customers to resolve payment issues.

- Process billing functions accurately, ensuring invoices are issued and tracked effectively.

- Conduct thorough research to identify and address longstanding accounts receivable issues.

- Generate and analyze statements to reconcile accounts and ensure completeness.

- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and address operational challenges.

- Utilize ERP system to maintain accurate financial records.

- Provide recommendations to streamline accounts receivable processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable roles, with a focus on investigative and reconciliation work.

- Strong knowledge of cash applications, billing functions, and commercial collections.

- Proven ability to research and resolve complex discrepancies in customer accounts.

- Proficiency in using ERP systems

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.

- Self-motivated and detail oriented, with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently.
