Role OverviewAs a Loan Processor, you will play a critical role in guiding U.S.
-based consumers—primarily homeowners—through the loan processing stage of their home improvement financing. You will work directly with applicants to collect, review, and validate required documentation using phone, email, text, and the HFS Loan Portal.
This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage a high-volume loan pipeline while maintaining compliance and quality standards. Typical documents reviewed include income documentation, proof of home ownership and residence, home improvement contracts and estimates, U.S. driver’s licenses, and banking information.
Key Responsibilities- Request, review, and validate consumer information and documentation
- Manage and prioritize a personal loan pipeline to efficiently move applications through processing and into final underwriting
- Address underwriting stipulations in a timely and accurate manner
- Communicate with applicants via phone, email, text, and customer portal to obtain missing or clarifying information
- Maintain high quality and accuracy standards while processing a high volume of applications
- Identify and elevate potentially fraudulent or suspicious activity
- Carefully review financial documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to share insights, report system bugs, suggest enhancements, and follow established SOPs
- Operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines to include Fair Lending laws
- 2+ years of experience in the lending industry
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- 2+ years of experience in loan processing and/or underwriting
- Experience working within a Loan Origination System (LOS)
- Familiarity with underwriting and processing tools such as:
- Identity verification services
- Income and employment verification tools
- Other fintech-enabled lending solutions

: $48,599 – $60,000 per year
