- The RN provides clients with professional health services including sick call, regular medical assessments, dental needs, daily triage of injuries and illnesses, record review, health screening and health education.
- Monitor and/or administer medications, document adverse effects and any required tests. Obtain prescription re‑fills in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain Medication Administration Sheets for each client, monitoring for missing signatures and medication errors.
- Maintain the Controlled Drug Book.
- Participate in treatment team staffing as needed.
- Advise social services staff of necessary health services.
- Transport clients to medical appointments as required or assigned.
- Requires Registered Nurse Diploma or degree and current, appropriate RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Preferred: two years of experience in school, correctional, doctor’s office, camp, industrial, or public health settings. Experience with pediatric/adolescent patient care preferred.
- Working knowledge of child/adolescent related illnesses and CPR certification.

Eckerd Connects’ Short‑Term Juvenile Justice Residential program provides a complete rehabilitative experience over 4 to 6 months for 40 adjudicated male youth, ages 13 to 17, referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice. The residential treatment combines evidence‑based practices, individual and academic plans, and family counseling in a non‑punitive environment. Youth receive accredited on‑site education and work in small group settings with assigned counselors.
