Our Kidney Dialysis Unit (KDU), located at Annie Penn Hospital, is a 2-bay suite with a primary focus on patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).

Job Responsibilities- Monitors and assesses patients' vital signs and overall condition during dialysis sessions to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments, including heparin administration and fluid management, to patients undergoing dialysis.
- Operates and maintains dialysis equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and cleanliness for each session.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to patients' specific needs.
- Educates patients and their families about the dialysis process, self-care techniques, and dietary restrictions to promote optimal outcomes and quality of life.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Associate's Degree in Nursing - Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Required:
2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
- Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state - Required:
BLS (CPR) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
