Christiana Care, Primary Carein Rehoboth is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant.

As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.

Duties of a Medical Assistant I include greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs. The assistant performs point‑of‑care testing, administers injections and medications, and conducts EKGs when needed. The assistant supports clinicians during examinations and procedures by preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies, completing patient‑specific paperwork, and ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results.

The assistant handles patient callbacks, follows state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment, manages prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills, schedules tests and surgeries, and performs quality control on testing equipment. The assistant offers documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertakes clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors, troubleshoots issues with video visits, and helps patients utilize Christiana Care’s Patient Portal.

Safety is paramount, as the assistant works safely, adheres to departmental safety rules, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions or violations that could potentially harm patients, staff, or visitors.

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or holder of current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

• You must possess excellent attention to detail, dependability, excellent communication skills, integrity, and technical skills.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69 – This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
