Responsibilities   Provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child, the family, and the community based on the Epistemology of First Nation law, beliefs and practices, guidance and involvement of Elders, and support of family and community members to prevent further involvement with the child protection system.
Work in partnership with the Family Enhancement Manager and family members to plan, implement, evaluate family enhancement projects and services.
Identify strengths and needs for appropriate prevention services to families and promote strong communities and positive social outcomes that enable communities to address issues through their own resilience and capacities.

Qualifications   Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR Four-year university undergraduate degree in a related discipline with eighteen (18) months experience in a human services field OR Certificate in Social Work with 12 months of direct child protection experience;
Certificate in human services field would be a definite asset
Experience working in the human services field
Knowledge of Cree, Nakota, Lakota and Saulteaux culture and understanding of the political and social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations
Ability to work evenings and weekends; must be willing to sign an Oath of Confidentiality
Ability to assess and identify at-risk families, refer and engage appropriate resources, and work with and support the Child & Family Services Authorities
