Responsibilities
  • Using high pressure air, along with sand, to remove any rust or debris from steel products in order to prepare them for paint.
  • Wearing the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
  • Inspect sandblasting equipment for proper function before use, including checking air compressors, hoses, and nozzles.
  • Set up sandblasting machines and ensure all components are correctly assembled and adjusted for optimal performance.
  • Sandblast surfaces to remove coatings, rust, old paint, and contaminants, returning the material to its original condition or preparing it for new coatings.
  • Ensure the work environment is safe by setting up proper ventilation and containment systems to manage dust and debris.
  • Regularly clean and maintain sandblasting equipment, including hoses, nozzles, and air compressors, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct post-blasting inspections to confirm that surfaces are clean, properly prepared, and free of contaminants.
  • Safely handle and store abrasive materials to prevent contamination or degradation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems with sandblasting equipment, such as clogging, leaks, or pressure issues.
