The Ministry of Sask Builds and Procurement is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join the Project Support & Analytics within the Project Support Office in the Infrastructure Design and Delivery division.

Our workplace is comprised of trusted collaborative leaders who provide the best infrastructure solutions for Saskatchewan, with the unique responsibility to lead the planning, design and delivery of very large, impactful projects including all major health, education, justice, corrections, post-secondary and parks infrastructure projects.

The Project Support & Analysis unit and Project Support Office provide support primarily to the sector-based branches (i.e., Education, Health, Corrections, Justice, Parks). Some of the services they provide include data analysis, financial analysis, financial accounting and reporting, quality control, process mapping, contract standards, invoice tracking, project closeout, lessons learned and many more.

The Project Support Office was recently developed to introduce project management, project reporting, project standards and policy to the division as well as training and orientation tools and improved reporting and analytics.

The Role:

As a Data Analyst within the Project Support Office, you will play a critical role in developing data collection tools, ensuring data integrity, enhancing reporting capabilities and supporting infrastructure project delivery across multiple sectors. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

As a Data Analyst within the Project Support Office, your job duties may include:

  • Assisting with multiple data collection systems and reporting tools in compliance with GOS / ITD governance, naming conventions and filing requirements;
  • Developing dashboards and reports using tools such as Power

    BI, Python and Excel to provide insights into project performance, contracts, invoices and other financials;
  • Assisting with data cleaning, validation and preparing multiple large datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency;
  • Assisting in the development and management of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes, ensuring seamless flow of data between systems and reporting tools;
  • Assisting in the development, testing and management of a variety of algorithms to maintain an accurate and robust reporting framework;
  • Updating and organizing of electronic templates within GOS Standards;
  • Supporting the documentation, development, and improvement of project reporting standards and best practices, including document control and other administrative functions within the unit;
  • Updating and organizing electronic templates within GOS standards to improve workflow efficiency;
  • Conducting process mapping and analysis to identify opportunities for optimizing data handling and reporting functions; and
  • Providing assistance and support to other staff members within the Project Support Office.

    What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, information systems, data engineer or data science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience in data engineering, reporting, or analysis and data science.
  • Critical Thinking & Technical

    Skills:

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in software and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau and PowerPoint);

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

    Knowledge of project management principles and reporting structures; and Strong attention to detail, ability to work with large datasets, and understanding of data governance best practices.
