Location: Regina, Saskatchewan
Hours: Mon-Fri 37.5 hours/week

This position is responsible for the performance of ultrasound examinations in accordance with the standards, practices and code of ethics of Sonography Canada and Mayfair. Sonographers performing ultrasound procedures are in a position that requires a highly responsible and professional attitude. They are exposed to many serious and very personal issues. They must ensure the highest quality care possible in both a personal and professional manner.

They are expected to work in cooperation with reception, technical assistants, radiologists and clinic managers as part of a team whose primary focus is to provide exemplary customer service to the patient.

• Responsible for operating ultrasound equipment and performing ultrasound examinations in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with Sonography Canada standards and practice and shall adhere to their Code of Ethics.
• Responsible for performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with Mayfair and CAR (Canadian Association of Radiologists) standards.
• Provides exemplary customer service in the care of the patient:
  Works in cooperation with reception, radiologists and clinic supervisors as part of a team whose primary focus is to provide exemplary customer service to the patient. Assists patients to facilitate transport and positions. Ensures accuracy of consultation request is verified in all cases without error. Ensures that there are no errors in patient identification. Explains the procedure to patient. Provides high quality patient care and assists patients with their physical and emotional needs, when necessary.
  
  Ensures that all patient needs are fulfilled as they arise. Maintains patient confidentiality as per HIA, HIPA, and this practice’s privacy policies. Observes Mayfair’s policies and procedures.
• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures:
  Only perform exams in which they have obtained certification [RDMS (General), RDCS (Cardiac) RVT (Vascular) and NT (Nuchal Translucency)]. Maintains good standing with their professional associations (Sonography Canada) registrations. Carries the personal liability insurance provided by Sonography Canada.
