Currently, Consus Management Ltd. is seeking a Forest Professional/Technician to work in its
Silviculture Department. This position will be primarily based out of our Williams Lake Office,
with an expectation of office work, fieldwork, and occasional camp shifts.

Main Duties:
  • Silviculture Survey field data collection (FG/RG/PST).
  • Even-aged, layered (L1/L4), uneven-aged.
  • Silviculture Survey report writing and data analysis.
  • Planting Implementation and Planting Quality Assessment plots.
  • Planting pay-cert report writing and analysis.
  • Prescription development for planting and stand tending activities.
  • Supervision of stand tending crews.
  • Support and training of internal staff as well as external staff of existing partnerships regarding surveys.
  • Qualifications and

    Competencies:
  • BC Accredited Silviculture Surveyor is mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years (intermediate) or 5 years (senior) experience completing silviculture surveys and reports.
  • Experience as crew leader and/or supervising crews and/or mentoring junior field staff.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and ESRI Mapping Programs.
  • Proficient with the use of JRP Solutions Ltd. programs:
    Plant Wizard, SNAP!
  • Willingness to work both in the field and complete associated office work.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in forestry or related field.
  • Possession of a valid BC Driver’s License.
  • Physically fit to endure fieldwork in all conditions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Experienced with the use of 4×4 trucks, quads, and sleds.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Legislation and Regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the ABCFP as a RFT or RPF, preferred but not required.
