Engineering Specialist, SCADA
Sask Energy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Engineering Specialist, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) provides specialized and expert engineering services to support safe, reliable and secure remote operation of the pipeline system. The Engineering Specialist leads the implementation of highly technical software, computer, communication and cyber-security facilities, enabling safe, reliable, efficient and economical control of the pipeline system.
This includes the provision, supervision and coordination of technical services for engineering activities or project requirements, ensuring sound application and development of engineering, industry practices and technological advancements; as well as identification and recommendation of effective business solutions to support departmental and corporate objectives.

Non-union - This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities
Prepare, review and approve advanced engineering designs, software implementations, reports and data based insights to ensure safety, quality and company standards are met.
Lead in the development of corporate SCADA standards, specifications and operating procedures, audit and follow-up to ensure compliance.
Evaluate, recommend and implement advanced technologies or systems that optimize operations, including reduced costs or enhancements to business process or information.
Manage advanced projects and programs of a multidisciplinary, multi-year and/or complex nature involving engineering design, construction and commissioning of facilities or SCADA system improvements to ensure projects proceed safely and according to planned schedules.
Provide overall project coordination with customers and field resources, and deliver advanced technical training for field and technical support personnel.
Provide technical support by applying advanced engineering principles in the investigation, analysis, recommendation and resolution of unique SCADA system problems.
Oversee assigned staff performing SCADA system services to provide instruction and guidance and to ensure quality and Company standards are met.
Research, analyze and evolve current and future requirements and provide comprehensive SCADA solutions to meet corporate strategic and long term plans.
Develop Technology roadmaps, long term plans and budgets for SCADA capital strategic and operating infrastructure replacement.
Design and implement effective provisions for SCADA cyber-security in accordance with business and legislated requirements.
Professionally represent the company on industry technical committees, sharing knowledge and recommending applicable advancements and innovations to Sask Energy.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Degree in Engineering (Electronic Systems, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering).
Professional Engineer Designation qualified to practice in Saskatchewan.
Ten (10) years of progressive engineering experience related to SCADA systems in the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrated competency in software, computer, communications and cyber security that includes complex problem solving, project management, coaching and mentorship;
Strong working knowledge and of SCADA best practices, standards, and operating procedures.
Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required.
Provide on-call support for SCADA system
