The Opportunity

The is filling a permanent full-time position, ideal for an enthusiastic, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the Sport, Culture and Recreation branch.

As the successful candidate, you will have the chance to work closely with the Executive Director, a high-performing team, and the Deputy Minister's Office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the branch's financial management activities including processing and coding invoices, processing grant/sponsorship payments and preparing the branch's monthly forecast.
  • Crafting and proofreading a range of confidential documents with precision and attention to detail, including general correspondence, briefing materials, budget documents, cabinet documents, reports, tables, emails and presentations.
  • Expertly organizing meetings, events and travel arrangements, ensuring seamless logistics.
  • Implementing efficient records management practices to uphold the integrity of our filing systems.

  • Managing organizational tracking systems and tackling other duties as they arise.
  • Directly supervising one administrative assistant and participating as a member of the branch's leadership team.

  • Exceptional organizational abilities to handle inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills to navigate challenges in a dynamic setting.
  • Proficiency with modern technology and a willingness to adapt to new tools.
  • A track record of accountability, flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Experience using a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Experience working in a team environment and supervising or mentoring staff.
