Responsibilities
  • Teach all classes in the Agriculture program, including Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, and Workplace Effectiveness;
  • Enhance curriculum and incorporate cutting‑edge technology for optimal classroom delivery;
  • Leverage innovative methodologies such as online, hybrid or Competency‑Based Education (CBE) designed to furnish students with the requisite knowledge and skills for attainment of their educational and career objectives;
  • Recruit and advise students;
  • Participate in departmental co‑curricular activities such as clubs, Future Farmers of America (FFA)/California Agricultural Teacher's Association (CATA) events;
  • Stay current in the discipline and participate in professional development activities;
  • Serve on departmental, division, and faculty committees and attend meetings & workshops as needed;
  • Participate in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning;
  • Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, online or off‑campus and large group instruction classes as needed;
  • Otherwise fulfill all of the duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice within the classroom; and

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and two (2) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience;
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience;
  • A valid California Community College Credential;
  • The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;
  • Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes;
  • Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds including students with disabilities;
