Essential Functions

  • Provide instruction in Agricultural Technology on the Fresno City College campus and/or off-site locations, including classes in the Agriculture program and the Ag Systems Certificate (e.g., Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, Workplace Effectiveness).
  • Enhance curriculum and incorporate cutting-edge technology for effective classroom delivery.
  • Utilize innovative methodologies such as online, hybrid, or Competency-Based Education (CBE) to equip students with knowledge and skills for educational and career objectives.
  • Recruit and advise students; participate in departmental co-curricular activities (FFA/CATA events); stay current in the discipline and engage in professional development.
  • Serve on departmental, division, and faculty committees; attend meetings and workshops as needed.
  • Participate in program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning.
  • Teach in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings and/or weekends, online or off-campus, and large group instruction as needed.
  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students and equity-minded practices.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential; or
  • Equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into responsibilities.
  • Experience working with racially minoritized students and understanding of historical patterns of exclusion in higher education.
  • Experience with students of diverse cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, including students with disabilities.
  • Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to better engage racially minoritized students.
  • Related work experience; ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to work with computers and other technologies used in high-quality instruction and support; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Professional competency in teaching and experience in agriculture systems; ability to use current educational technology methods and tools.
  • Membership in professional organizations; knowledge of current assessment methods and materials; knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Conditions Of Employment

178 duty days per year (contingent upon funding). Duty days prorated based on start date.

Salary And Benefits

Starting annual salary: $71,054 – $106,970 based on education and experience. Duty days prorated based on start date. An annual doctoral stipend of $2,419 is available. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee and dependents, life insurance;
CalSTRS retirement.
