The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to the use of a curriculum responsive to the students it serves.
- Reporting to the Dean of Applied Technology and providing instruction in Applied Technology on the Fresno City College campus and/or at off-site community campus locations, the instructor will be responsible for:
- Teaching courses in precision measurements, occupational safety, job preparation, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software applications, learning management systems and cooperative work experience;
- Teaching short term contract education classes to the program's industry partners;
- Attending departmental, division, and faculty meetings including workshops;
- Serving on and attending department, college, and district committees as needed;
- Recruiting and advising students;
- Working with local companies in the development and placement of on-the-job student internships;
- Participating in program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning;
- Participating in departmental co-curricular activities such as clubs and related events;
- Maintaining standards of professional conduct and other duties and responsibilities of instructional staff as required;
- Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, online or off-campus, and large group instruction classes as needed;
- Developing reports and working with Fresno City College Institutional Research to maintain data on enrollments, course completion, and outcome achievements;
- Assisting in the advancement of the institutional mission and goals;
- Otherwise fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
- Other duties as assigned.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom; and
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
