Essential FunctionsAt Reedley College we value serving students from diverse cultural heritages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, abilities and orientations. We seek an equity-minded leader committed to student success through collaboration with faculty, staff, administration, students and community partners to close equity gaps.
- Provide instruction in Agriculture Department under the general direction of the Dean of Instruction, at Reedley College and/or off-site locations.
- Teach non-credit classes in the Ag Foundations Certificate (e.g., Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, Workplace Effectiveness).
- Teach credit classes (e.g., Agriculture Mechanics, Environmental Horticulture, Plant Science) and other Agricultural courses.
- Enhance curriculum and explore/develop new programs (e.g., transfer degree in Agricultural Systems Management).
- Incorporate cutting-edge technology and innovative delivery methods (online, hybrid, or Competency-Based Education).
- Recruit and advise students; serve as an advisor to Career Development Events in Agriculture.
- Participate in departmental co-curricular activities (FFA/CATA) and professional development; serve on committees and attend meetings.
- Contribute to program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning.
- Provide teaching assignments in varied settings and times (evening/weekends, online, off-campus, large groups) as needed.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; other duties as assigned.
All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students and equity-minded practice.
And
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications- Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into responsibilities.
- Experience with racially minoritized students and understanding of how historical patterns affect participation/outcomes.
- Experience with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.
- Experience in outreach and recruitment in rural communities; building partnerships with local agricultural industries, organizations, and high schools.
- Proven ability to engage hard-to-reach student groups; experience teaching or training adult/non-traditional learners.
- Strong communication and technological skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and the community college mission/goals.
178 duty days per year, prorated based on start date.
Salary and BenefitsStarting annual salary is $71,054 – $106,970 based on education and experience.
Duty days prorated based on start date. Annual doctoral stipend of $2,419 available. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance;
CalSTRS retirement.

Interviews are tentatively scheduled; final approvals required by the College President and Board of Trustees.
