Overview

Agricultural Technology Instructor (Full-Time, Tenure-Track) Reedley College - Three (3) Vacancies

Posting Details includes a full-time tenure-track position. The District may fill more than one position from this pool.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in Agriculture Department under the general direction of the Dean of Instruction, including instruction on the Reedley College campus and/or off-site community locations.
  • Teach non-credit classes in the Ag Foundations Certificate such as Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, and Workplace Effectiveness.
  • Teach credit classes such as Agriculture Mechanics, Environmental Horticulture, Plant Science, and other Agricultural classes.
  • Enhance curriculum and explore development of a new transfer degree in Agricultural Systems Management.
  • Incorporate cutting-edge technology for optimal classroom delivery and use online, hybrid, or Competency-Based Education (CBE) approaches to support student outcomes.
  • Recruit and advise students; serve as an advisor to Career Development Events in Agriculture.
  • Participate in departmental co-curricular activities (e.g., clubs, FFA/CATA events); stay current in the discipline and engage in professional development.
  • Serve on departmental, division, and faculty committees; attend meetings and workshops; participate in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment.
  • Provide teaching assignments in varied instructional settings and times, including evenings, weekends, online or off-campus; contribute to large group instruction as needed.
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds and equity-minded practices. The following are acceptable qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential; or
  • Equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into responsibilities.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and communities; ability to engage racially minoritized students.
  • Outreach and recruitment experience in rural communities; collaboration with local agricultural industries and community organizations.
  • Ability to teach or provide training to adult and non-traditional learners; strong communication and computer/technology skills.
  • Spanish bilingualism; professional affiliations; knowledge of assessment methods and community college mission.
Conditions of Employment

178 duty days per year. Duty days prorated based on start date.

Salary and Benefits

Starting annual salary is $71,054 – $106,970 based on education and experience. There is an annual doctoral stipend of $2,419. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and CalSTRS retirement.

Selection Procedure
