The ideal candidate will share Fresno City College's commitment to educating its racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. For the academic year, we enrolled over 45,000 students, with demographics including 68% Latinx, 11% Asian/Pacific Islander, 4% Black/African American, 14% White, 1% American Indian/Alaska Native, and 2% multiracial. Fresno City College is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS) and a Black-Serving Institution (BSI) and an AANAPISI institution, reflecting the College's responsibility to the surrounding community.
The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to curriculum responsive to the students it serves.
- Provide instruction in Graphic Communications on the Fresno City College campus and/or at off-site community campus locations.
- Teach a full schedule of developmental and transfer-level Graphic Communications courses as assigned, including lecture and laboratory instruction in professional video and graphic communications at any vocational level taught at the community college.
- Conduct classes, lab maintenance and operation, equipment inventory, class preparation, office hours, student evaluation and advisement, professional advisory and campus committee work, curriculum and program development, and student activities.
- Serve on and attend department, college, and district committees as needed; maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics; stay current in teaching video production and graphic design.
- Participate in program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning.
- Teach in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings and/or weekends, online or off-campus, large group instruction; may include off-campus instruction at local high schools for dual enrollment.
- Fulfill duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; other duties as assigned.
All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students in relation to equity-minded practice.
- Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience; or
- Any associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications- Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;
- Recent experience with racially minoritized students and understanding of historical patterns of exclusion in higher education;
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to better engage racially minoritized students;
- Related work and professional experience;
- Experience working with students of various backgrounds, including students with disabilities;
