Manufacturing Technology Instructor (FAME) (Full-time, Tenure-Track) Reedley College

Reedley College, a Hispanic‑Serving Institution in the Central Valley, invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track Faculty position in the Department of Agriculture. The successful candidate will lead the manufacturing technology curriculum, teach courses, advise students, and collaborate with industry partners to address equity gaps.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a full schedule of developmental and transfer level manufacturing technology courses, including blueprint reading, industrial materials, electricity, hydraulics, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, welding, machine shop, 2D and 3D CAD, robotics, lean manufacturing, and cooperative work experience.
  • Conduct short‑term contract education classes for program industry partners.
  • Participate in program review, student learning‑outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning.
  • Assist in the operation of the manufacturing technology budget, facilities, and programs.
  • Attend departmental, division, and faculty meetings and workshops.
  • Serve on staff, college, and district committees and contribute through appropriate committee assignments.
  • Recruit and advise students.
  • Work with local manufacturing companies to develop and place on‑the‑job student internships.
  • Collaborate with Central Valley FAME and SJVMA to organize and maintain an active advisory committee of industry partners.
  • Complete FAME USA instructor training to become a certified FAME instructor.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to modify and develop curriculum for the program.
  • Participate in departmental co‑curricular activities such as clubs and related events.
  • Assist in the advancement of the institution’s mission and goals.
  • Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings, weekends, online, off‑campus, and large‑group instruction as needed.
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential
    ; or
  • The equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility.
  • Recent experience working with racially minoritized students and understanding historical patterns of exclusion.
  • Experience working with students of diverse cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds including students with disabilities.
  • Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to better engage and support racially minoritized students.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Proficiency with computers and technologies used for high‑quality instruction and support.
  • Professional competency evidenced by successful teaching and work experience in maintenance mechanics.
  • Ability to use current educational technology methods and tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Commitment to professional growth.
  • Clear communication skills, orally and in writing.
  • Memberships in professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
