Responsibilities- Teaching classes in Municipal Surveying, Route and Construction Surveying, Adjustment Computation, and Introduction to Engineering;
- Working closely with K‑12 and 4‑year transfer institutions to enhance and promote STEM fields of study and careers;
- Developing technology used for classroom presentations;
- Advising students;
- Communicating effectively with students and staff;
- Participating in appropriate professional meetings and workshops;
- Cooperating with regard to scheduling classes between colleagues in the same disciplines;
- Participating in student recruiting activities;
- Assisting in the advancement of the institutional mission and goals;
- Serving on and attending department, college, and district committees as needed;
- Participating in program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning;
- Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, online or off‑campus, and large group instruction classes as needed, and may include off‑campus instruction at local high schools for dual enrollment;
- Otherwise fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice within the classroom;
- Master's in any field of engineering; or
- Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry or geology; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
