The successful candidate will join a college dedicated to the students it serves.
- Teaching a full schedule of developmental and transfer‑level Art courses as assigned, including but not limited to Drawing, 2‑D Design, Computer Graphics, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or 2‑D Animation;
- Incorporating historical and contemporary design practices into instruction;
- Coordinating the scheduling of part‑time instructors and lab assistants;
- Overseeing the ordering of materials and equipment;
- Overseeing the care, maintenance and safety of the lab/classroom;
- Serving on and attending department, college, and district committees as needed;
- Participating in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning;
- Teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, online or off‑campus and large group instruction classes as needed;
- Otherwise fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice within the classroom;
- Master’s in fine arts, art or art history; or
- Bachelor’s in fine arts, art or art history and master’s in humanities;
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
