Job Description
Principal Software Engineer role at OCI offers opportunity to make significant impact by solving complex mission‑critical challenges with deep technical scope. Our Infrastructure Delivery Engineering team is building services and tools behind the world’s largest AI mega‑cluster. This service spans all aspects of logical and physical modeling for new data centers and data center networks—covering planning, design, delivery, and bootstrap—enabling OCI to expand its footprint in existing regions and launch entirely new ones.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Software Engineer you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock‑solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low‑level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
CandidateProfile
- 5–12+ years experience designing, developing and operating large‑scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of Java, C, or C++, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of databases, No
SQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies. - Working familiarity with operating systems internals, networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with network designs, modeling and network linking algorithms is a strong plus.

Hiring range in USD from $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
