Responsibilities
  • Lead Veterinarian for Burlingame, CA to provide comprehensive veterinary medical services for pets & companion animals
  • Perform physical examinations & diagnostic, medical, surgical and dental procedures
  • Communicate diagnoses & physical examination findings
  • Prepare treatment plans
  • Educate clients on preventative healthcare
  • Maintain client & patient records
  • Attend continuing education sessions; stay current on developments in veterinary medicine
  • Provide medical, people, & business leadership
  • Build & develop hospital team
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and/or Veterinary Science degree
  • Valid California Veterinarian License
  • 2 yrs experience in lead and/or senior-level veterinarian position(s)
  • Experience performing physical examinations of companion animals
  • Experience performing soft tissue surgeries on companion animals (including ovariohysterectomy, castration, gastrotomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, enterotomy, & mass removals)
  • Experience prophylactic dentistry & surgical dental extractions for companion animals
  • Experience communicating diagnoses & treatment plans to clients
  • Experience using veterinary computer software to enter & maintain client and patient records
  • Experience using imaging equipment, including X-ray & ultrasound
  • Mentoring & guiding junior team members
  • Contributing to hospital operations management (scheduling, ensuring compliance with veterinary practice acts and SOPs, establishing and maintaining medical SOPs)
  • Driving delivery of hospital financial goals
