Are you a clinical expert in Respiratory Care with a passion for leading high-performing teams in an acute inpatient setting? We are looking for a Manager of Respiratory Therapy to drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and high-quality patient outcomes for our Redwood City facility.
In this role, you aren’t just a manager; you are a clinical advocate who leads from the front. You will oversee respiratory care standards across a unionized hospital environment, ensuring that our teams are equipped, trained, and empowered to deliver evidence-based care in the moments that matter most.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Operations: Translate high-level business plans into actionable departmental workflows and staffing models.
- People Leadership: Coach, mentor, and develop a diverse team of Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) within a collaborative union environment.
- Clinical Standards: Lead the implementation of cutting-edge protocols and evidence-based practices; ensure teams are proficient with the latest respiratory equipment.
- Compliance & Safety: Oversee federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, etc.) while mitigating risks to patient and staff safety.
- Resource Management: Optimize department budgeting, inventory control, and clinical performance metrics.
- Licensure: Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
- Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in respiratory care.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of respiratory therapy experience + 3 years in a leadership/management capacity.
- Environment: Recent experience in an Inpatient/Acute Care setting and a Unionized labor environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Active certification via AHA.
- Recent NICU respiratory therapy experience.
