Sleep Technician III; RPSGT - Sleep Studies HRS

Overview

Sleep Technologist III, 0.9 FTE Part time Day - 12 Hour shifts, onsite at Stanford Health Care Sleep Disorders Clinic, Redwood City, CA.

Location:

Stanford Health Care, 440 Broadway, Redwood City, CA. This job is part of the Allied Health team within Stanford Health Care.

• Laboratory set-up, patient hook-ups and performing and evaluating overnight polysomnograms.
• Operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep and wake physiology.
• Work as part of a team to perform tasks according to international standards and Sleep Clinic policy and procedures.
• Maintain a schedule that includes day, evening or night shifts.
• Accurately and safely insert PES according to Clinic policy and procedures.
• Apply electrodes and sensors to patients according to universal standards and Clinic policy and procedures.
• Instruct patients regarding hookup procedures and testing process.
• Fit patients for nasal masks during titration tests; respond to patient care needs.
• Conduct urine screens according to Hospital policy and procedure.
• Recognize and eliminate artifacts during data collection to meet quality standards.
• Generate a comprehensive technologist report reflecting testing procedures, patient outcomes and environmental influences.
• Perform CPAP and Bilevel titrations per clinic policy and procedures.
• Document data acquisition and logging in accordance with established protocols.
• Provide comprehensive technologist notes and logs during polysomnographic testing procedures.
• Provide medications to patients per physician orders and hospital policy and procedures.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Three (3) years of progressively responsible, directly related work experience.

• Judgment and decision-making abilities; ability to solve problems and identify solutions.
• Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus; effective verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge and competency in polysomnographic testing, procedures and utilization.
• Knowledge of sleep disorders and use of electronic systems; familiarity with relevant computer systems and software.
• Keeping abreast of new technologies in the field.

• Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technicians (BRPT) credential as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Base pay scale:
Generally starting at $49.35 - $55.58 per hour. Final salary determined based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, and training.
